REDHEADED WOODPECKER

He is in the middle of the large tree.
A much better view.

While my husband was out on the deck, today, grilling
salmon for lunch. He came running in the house
yelling where is the camera, where is the camera.
I grabbed the camera and ran out onto the deck
and to my surprise there were these two huge
red headed woodpeckers hunting for bugs in the
trees and on the ground. They were much bigger
then the ones that have made their nest in the
limb of the tree outside my bedroom window. Above
are the pictures I captured. Click pictures to enlarge.

Oh, my! Looks like Woody... Woody Woodpecker, that is. Nice photos.

P.S. I can't imagine Dad running into the house yelling for the camera. Did he really do that?

Yes he did. Thanks for the nice comment. I need a better camera to get better close ups.
