PILLOWCASES

I have been busy embroidering
pillowcases. Here are the four
pair I have finished in the last
2 months. I probably will give
them as gifts.

DAD

I came across this picture of my dad , I'm not sure
the exact date it was taken, but I believe it had to be sometime in the 1940's. He was dressed in his Sunday
best and as usual he was wearing his hat and smoking
his pipe

SISTERS

Kara and Deann taken Easter March 1975. They looked so cute in their matching
dresses that I made.

KARA

YET ANOTHER SOUTHERN BELLE

On December 5, 1969 we were blessed with another daughter, Kara Monique. I truly thought
I was going to have a boy the way she carried on while I was pregnant.

DEANN

Deann standing at 7 months old on the left and on her 2nd
birthday above

ANOTHER SOUTHERN BELLE

God blessed us with another girl, Deann Michele, born October 3, 1966 in Birmingham, Alabama. She was a cutie and got a lot of attention from her older sister and brother.

BROTHER AND SISTER

This was taken in June 1961. They always got along very well, did not fight like most brothers and sisters do. They were and still are best of friends.

HANDSOME TWO YEAR OLD

What a handsome young man at the age of 2 years old. The jacket was red and white stripes. Notice the bow tie.

OUR ONE AND ONLY SON

Kenneth Mark our second child was born in Sacramento, California in September 1958. He was a cutie.

A SMILE THAT WOULD MELT ANY HEART

I believe Debbie was 4 years old when this was taken. The dress she is wearing is one I made. I sewed almost all of her clothes when she was growing up.

DADDY'S GIRL

Debbie and Karl taken in 1958. She was the apple of her daddy's eye. The sweater she is wearing was crocheted by my mother.

VALENTINE'S DAY GIFT

My husband surprised me this morning with this lovely bouquet of carnations and a card
that had a very sweet meaningful verse that meant so much to me.

Happy Valentine's Day

Wishing my husband, my children , my grandchildren, my great grandchild and all my friends a
happy valentine's day. Hugs to all.

First born southern belle

Our daughter Debra Marie
was born in June l956. She
had black hair a lot of it. Back
then no hospital photos were
taken. This was taken when
she was a week old. Being a
new mom I was a little nervous
at first but with the help of my
mother-in-law I got the hang of
things.

California to Alabama

It was quite an adventure for a small town girl,
who had never been out of the state of California,
to travel across country and meet for the first time
my husband's family. Boy was I ever so afraid they
would not like me, but as it turned out I was welcomed
with open arms.

Saying goodby

This was taken in Sept.
1955, just before we left
my home state of California
for my husband's home town
in Alabama. I am on the right
my Aunt Dorothy is on the left.

We were married only 6 months
when this picture was taken April
1955.

Karl

This is a picture of my husband
taken in May 1954 at Beale Air
Force Base , before I met him.
Fate would have us meet in July
of that same year.

We were married 4 months later on
November 27.

Dads rock work

My dad was so proud of
his rock work. He built
this barbecue pit and tables
in the picnic area of Pioneer
Park in Nevada City, California
in the 1950"s. The last time
I visited my hometown it was
still there.

High School Graduation 1954

The high schools of Nevada City
and Grass Valley were combined
when I was junior and it became
Nevada Union High School. My old
high school became a Junior High and
the high school in Grass Valley became
the senior high. Eventually they built a
new school between the two towns.

Sadie Hawkins day 1954

My two best friends and me
taken on dress up day, which was
held every year for Sadie Hawkins
day. I am the one in the back. I
was dressed as Peter Pan.

Summer fun

This is the city pool where
I spent a good part of my
summers from the time I
was a youngster through my
teenage years. I took lessons
starting with beginners class
ending with life saving class.
We had a life guard, while
I was in high school, that taught
us synchronized swimming. We
performed for people during our
4th of July celebration.

Basketball 1953

Girls A basketball team. I am
3rd from left.

Girls Athletic Association l953

Scholars 1952

I was a sophomore when this
picture was taken . We were
members of the California
Scholarship Federation. I am
in the front row 2nd from right.

Starting high school

I attended Nevada City High School.
Here is my freshman picture.

8th graduation

This was taken in 1950 in the
dress I wore at my 8th grade
graduation. I was so proud of it.
