SHIRLEY TEMPLE PITCHER

As most of you know my husband and I enjoy
going to yard sales. Weather permitting we
go almost every Friday and Saturday morning.
Pictured above is one of my finds Friday morning.
A Shirley Temple cobalt blue pitcher. It measures
4 1/2 inches. It has one little ding at the top but
one has to look close to see it. The best thing about
this find was the price 5 cents. I looked at the price
took it over to show my husband we could not believe
our eyes. Needless to say for that price I had to have
it.

THOUGHT FOR THURSDAY

Every year of my life I
grow more convinced
that it is wisest and best
to fix our attention on
the beautiful and good
and dwell as little as
possible on the dark and
the base.

TEA AND FRIENDSHIP TUESDAY

Well, this is the end of a perfect day,
Near the end of a journey, too;
But it leaves a thought that is big and strong,
With a wish that is kind and true.
For mem'ry has painted this perfect day
With colors that never fade,
And we find at the end of a perfect day
The soul of a friend we've made.
~Carrie Jacobs Bond~

Have a wonderful Tea and Friendship Tuesday.

FIRST DAY OF SUMMER JUNE 21

Summer Memories
~G. Reba~

The flowers grow
Gentle breezes blow
Firflies set the night aglow.

Swaying trees
Buzzing bees
The smell of sunshine
Pours over the seas.

Sandy feet
An ice cream treat
Bring delight that
Can't be beat.

Summer abodes
Life's stress unloads
On long slow drives
Down country roads.

As memories seek
For moments that speak
We treasure time shared.

PATRIOTIC CANDY

I have added this patriotic candy to
the rest of my decorations for the
up coming 4th of July celebration.
I found the candy at Wal-Mart. All
it is is taffy wrapped patriotic paper.
It is good taffy very yummy.

A THOUGHT FOR THURSDAY

Finish every day and be done with it. You have
done what you could. Some blunders and
absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as
soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin
it well and serenely and with too high spirit to be
cumbered with your old nonsense. This day is
all that is good and fair. It is too dear, with its
hopes and invitations, to waste a moment on the
yesterdays.

ANNA

I would like to introduce Anna, she is a sweet
cocker spaniel. We are baby-sitting her while
our son and his wife take a few days off to attend
the play Godspell that their daughter is appearing
in. It is being performed at Gulf Shores, Alabama.
Now back to Anna, she is a sweet dog, well behaved
and no trouble to take care of. If I had a dog I
think I would choose one just like her. Don't you
think she is cute?

SUMMER FUN

My grandsons Joseph and Adam enjoying some
fun time in the pool. They have been over 2 times
this week with their mother to splash, swim and like
brothers do, aggravate each other. They learned to
swim in this pool as did their older cousins. We put
our pool in the summer of 1980, it was well worth the
work it took putting it in. I enjoy the pool as much as
the children and grandchildren and every time I get
a chance I am in doing my laps. I have taught most of
my grandchildren to swim.

Dance Upon The Wind.
by Intimate Knight
I wasn't looking for it, but some how it came, and found me.Before I had a chance to react, it wrapped it's warmth around me.Like a thief in the night, it has come and gone.I have nothing, but that vision to reflect upon.Until chance comes again, I'll let my thoughts dance upon the wind. All day long, in my mind, I walk love's lonely street.Like a tired man that longs to sit, but just can't find a seat. Then, there it was again, up ahead, to light my way.Only to vanish once more, just like all my yesterdays.Until chance comes again, I'll let my thoughts dance upon the wind.I don't know where I'm going, and where I've been isn't much to speak of.I just know my heart is always showing, leading me to some far off love.Just when I give up the fight. Here it comes to make the bad things good, and the wrong things right.Only to leave me lost and lonely again.Drifting away as my thoughts dance upon the wind.It has a name, I think they call it friend.

I found this poem on the internet and thought it was so meaningful and so I am sharing with it
with all of you. Hope you all have a wonderful Tea and Friendship Tuesday.

FRIED GREEN TOMATOES

The above picture is of my husband's tomato plants.
They were planted sometime after Good Friday
and were tiny, tiny plants. Now they are five foot
tall and already have tomatoes on them. He always
has to have the first large green tomato to fry. So
for lunch he fried the tomatoes, corn on the cob, and
smoked pork chops all cooked on the grill. Boy was it
ever good. I'll have to admit he is a better cook then
I am. We topped it off with strawberry short cake for
dessert ( my contribution ). Pictured below is how
his first green fried tomato of the year turned out.
Take my word for it they were delicious.

THOUGHT OF THE DAY FOR THURSDAY

Don't go around saying the world owes you
a living. The world owes you nothing. It
was here first.

SWIMMING POOL IS OPEN AND READY FOR USE

My husband with a little help from me have got
the pool uncovered and it is ready for the grandkids
to have some summer fun. The water is still a
little cool, but nevertheless I was able to get in to
do a few laps yesterday. I try and swim everyday
when the weather cooperates. Looking forward to
a summer full of fun with the grandkids.

TEA AND FRIENDSHIP TUESDAYS

This little poem or song
just popped into my
head the other day.
I am not sure if I heard
it as a child or if I used
to tell it to my children.

"Polly put the kettle on"
~By Anonymous~

Polly put the kettle on,
Polly put the kettle on,
Polly put the kettle on,
We'll all have tea.

Sukey take it off again,
Sukey take it off again,
Sukey take it off again,
They've all gone away.

Blow the fire and make the toast,
put the muffins on to roast,
Blow the fire and make the toast,
We'll all have tea.

Have a great and wonderful Tea
and Friendship Tuesday.

FAITH, TRUST AND BELIEVE

Don't lose faith

when times go wrong.

The birds will sing

it won't be long.

Some days the beauty

is hard to see.

Trust in your heart,

it's meant to be.

Every flower has

its season.

For sadness and joy

there is a reason.

Love and peace

will take to wing,

if only you believe

prayer changes things.
