HAPPY FATHER'S DAY
My dad has been gone a good many years and this is the first father's day without my husband being with us. I know they are both in a better place. They were good and loving fathers. My husband loved his children and tried to teach them the values of life. He may have been a little bit strict at times but he did it in love. Happy Father's Day dad and Karl.
Wishing my son, Kenneth, sons-in-law Bob, Brian and Alex, grandson, Eric, and all my friends who are dads a very happy Father's Day.

FINGERLESS MITTEN I WON
These are the fingerless mittens I was lucky enough to win. They will come
in handy when winter gets here again. Thank you Evy for putting my name
in the pot and for that sweet girl who drew my name.
This is the sweet girl who is modeling the mittens and holding the piece of
paper that has my name on it. This is the first time I have won a gift on here.
Evy did a great job . Wish I could knit as well as she does.

MEMORIAL DAY
As you celebrate this Memorial Day weekend please remember and give thanks to the men and women who are now serving to keep this country free, those that have served, and those that did
not come home to their families. My dad fought in WW1 and my husband was in the Korean war.
I also had a Uncle who served in WW11 and lots of cousins who have served this country. I give
my thanks to all the service men and women now serving and remembering the ones now gone on
to be with the heavenly father. God Bless America and God bless the men and women who are now
serving.

BIRMINGHAM ZOO
Yesterday my daughter, Deann, and her son, Adam, my grandson, took me
to the Birmingham Zoo. Adam did voluntary work at the zoo but now he has a
summer job there. He was off yesterday so he was our guide. We got there
around 9 o'clock in the morning. We wanted to beat the heat. There were
lots of school children there but I will have to say they were pretty well behaved.
It was the first time I have been to the zoo in quite some time. I enjoyed the
day and seeing all the exhibits and animals. Below are some of the animals
my daughter took pictures of.
This peacock was strutting his stuff and he stopped and posed for this picture.
We went into the reptiles building but no picture were taken, also the bird
building and last but not least the butterfly garden.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY
Being a mother is a blessing. We make mistakes at times but we always
do the best we think is right. I want my children to know that I love them
all and that I am very proud of all of them.

WELCOME THE MONTH OF MAY
"Sweet May hath come to love us, flowers, trees their blossoms don;
and through the blue heavens above us the very clouds move on.
~Heinrich Heine~
"The May-pole is up, now give me the cup; I'll drink to the garlands around
it; but first unto those whose hands did compose the glory of flowers that
crown'd it."
~Robert Heiries~

ROSES AND YELLOW WATER IRIS
My knockout roses are blooming . I have pictured the roses from bud stage
to a full open rose. My water iris are blooming. They used to be in my
pond that I had with gold fish until the owls ate everyone of the gold fish so
now it is sort of a rock garden.

AZALEAS, WISTERIA AND WILDFLOWERS.
The first picture is of wild flowers blooming in my yard . When my
husband was alive he called them weeds but anything that blooms
is pretty to me. The second picture is of one of three of the wild wisteria
bushes on my property. All the other pictures are of the many azaleas
I have which are blooming. I have red, pink, white , peach, lavender and
some variegated ones. Click on picutres to see a better view.

ENJOYING THIS BEAUTIFUL DAY
I have been enjoying this beautiful day. First I ran some errands. Came home
and had lunch, then sat out on the swing in the front yard and read some. Then
took the above pictures of some of the flowering bushes and the violets . The
first picture is one of my wisteria bushes that is in bloom the second picture is
just one of my red bud trees that are in bloom ( I still can not understand the
name since the flower is more of a pink color.) The violets grow wild in the
ditch between my yard and the street that runs in front of my house. The
weatherman is calling for strong storms tomorrow so I will enjoy the day and
prepare for what is coming our way tomorrow.

SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS
I was able to go to my grandson, Adam, pictured above, school play
Snow white and the seven dwarfs. He played the part of Prince Charming.
A very good part for him since in my eyes he is a prince. The play
and all the actors were great. Adam will be a senior next year and then
on to college. They grow up so fast.

WELCOME TO THE MONTH OF APRIL
"Sweet April showers do bring May flowers."
~Thomas Tusser~
"April rain is here again; hear it pitter pitter, patter on the
leaves and on trees. See it spitter, spitter, spatter rain,
oh rain don't go away we need you for flow'rs in May
Drip, drip, drop and do not stop, send a little rain our way."
~Nina B. Hartford~
"The first of April, some do say, is set apart for
All Fools' Day. But why the people call it so, nor
I, nor they themselves do know. But on this day
are people sent on purpose for pure merriment."
~Poor Robin's Almanac 1780~

HAPPY EASTER
More than Easter bunnies and chocolate eggs galore,
in the cross of Calvary, the sacrifice of our Lord. For
Jesus is the reason, we all can celebrate and come to
Him freely receive His Love and saving grace.
~M.S. Lowndess~
"Christ the Lord is risen today! Angels rolled the stone away from
the tomb wherein He lay. Little children come and sing Glory, glory
to the King. Christ the Lord of everything!"
~Evaleen Stein~
The tulips in the garden are wearing yellow hats; the pussy-willows by
the brook have fur like any cats. The bee is honey hunting; the robins
chirp is gay; and all the world is singing, "Oh Happy Easter Day!"
Have a wonderful and blessed Easter everyone.
