CHRISTMAS PRESENT FOR HUSBAND

Granny square afghan I crocheted
for my husband for Christmas. I
finished it a couple of days before
Christmas. I know most people
crochet small squares and then put
them together but I just keep going
and make the afghans as big as I
want.

SNOWMEN

I hope you all had a wonderful
Christmas. I know my family
did, but after everyone left,
after eating to much and
exchanging gifts, I was ready
to take down Christmas and
put out my snowman collection
like I do and keep them up for
the month of January. It took
my husband and I two days to
take down all the Christmas
decorations that took us 2 weeks
to put out. The snowman pictured
above is one I received as a gift
this year. He lights up and can
be used outside as well as inside.

This cute fireplace screen was
a gift to my husband and I this
year from our grandson Eric, his
wife and their little boy, our
granddaughter Julie and her
husband. It will stay up now
until the end of January. He
brightens up the Franklin stove.

now is relax and wait for Christmas day when
my family will be here to enjoy the day.

WINTER WONDERLAND

This was sent to me last Saturday from Battle
Ground, Washington. Pictured are my daughter,
Kara, and her four children. From left to right
is Logan, Peyton, Kara, Drake, and Bryce. This
was taken at a park close to where they live. There
was not much snow on the ground when this was
taken but they did end up with 8 inches. After the
snow fall they had a freezing rain which needless to
say was quite treacherous. She told me when she
left their dog out, to use the bathroom, he could not
get off the deck for slipping and sliding. She finally
had to go out and make a path for him to get off the
deck. Before it iced over the kids and yes my daughter
and her husband had a ball playing in the snow.

1ST DAY OF WINTER

It is winter,
It is winter,
Oh so cold!
Oh so cold!
Icy, snowy weather,
Long nights and short days,
Winter's here!
Winter's here!

O TANNENBAUM

O Tannenbaum

O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree,
How lovely are your branches.
In summer sun, in winter snow,
A dress of green you always show,
O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree,
How lovely are your branches.

When I was in elementary school I
clearly remember being in a Christmas
play where we were dressed in green
plastic garbage bags holding candles and
standing on a plateform so we were in
the shape of a Christmas tree and we sang
the above song. Oh so long ago but still a
lovely memory.

ETHAN--ALABAMA FAN

I received an early Christmas present
today from my daughter, these
pictures of my great grandson,
Ethan, all decked out in his Alabama
outfit. Here he is with his Alabama
elephant.

Here he is cute as can be
striking a pose big smile
on his face. I just had to
share these with you my
fellow bloggers. I am not
only a proud grandmother
but a proud great grandmother.

OUTSIDE CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS

Manger scene I have along the pool fence.
The wise men and camel along the same fence
to the left of the manger scene. Storage building where I store all my holiday
decorations.
Back of the house . The two trees change colors
from white to blue. The wreath has multi-colored
lights.
This is what people call my court yard. In the
background is my little house, used for my
gardening material. The sleigh, santa, and deer
were crafted many years ago by my husband.
I did the painting.
Closer look at the bridge with sleigh, santa, and
deer.
A closer look at the little house with Santa and
Mrs. Claus on the porch. There is also a small
Christmas tree but it is hard to see.

Bridge over what used to be my fish pond until
the owls had my gold fish for their supper. It is
hard to see but there is a Christmas tree next to
Santa. I took all these pictures at night but they
really do not do the decorations justice. I have
had people stop and take pictures. I get alot of
nice comments from people and it is the reason
I love to decorate. With the help of my husband
it takes us 2 weeks to do the inside and outside
of the house. Now that I have all the decorations
done I have started my baking. I bake pumpkin
breads and gingerbread cookies for all my children,
grandchildren and friends. Some people are like
old Scrooge complaining and making a job out of
Christmas. To me it is a joy to do for other people,
to see the joy in a childs eyes when he visits Santa.
I have tried to incorporate all the meanings of Christmas
in my decorations, remembering the true and real
meaning of Christmas the birth of our Lord and Savior
Jesus Christ.

FULL MOON DECEMBER 12TH

I went out to check my Christmas lights this evening and
happened to look up and the most beautiful full moon was
coming up over the mountain. This photo does not do it
justice but I just had to take it.

WHITE CHRISTMAS TREE

My daughter, Kara, asked that I
post my white tree without the
lights on so she could see the
ornaments etc. This is the finished
product. I found some lavender
craft ribbon with silver snowflakes
that I used for garland.

PEARL HARBOR

Remembering all the lives that were lost
on December 7, 1941, when the Japanese
bombed Pearl Harbor. Pictured above is the
USS Arizona going down. It has been 67
years since that terrible day. Let us not
forget.

CHRISTMAS TREES

This is one of three 2 ft. trees that I have
up. This one is done in crystal hearts
and small paper gold angels. It is in,
as you can see, my main bathroom. These
three trees I put away every year
still decorated.
4 ft. tree located in one of the
bedrooms.

This 4 ft. aluminum tree is almost
50 years old. My two oldest
children grow up with this tree.

This is my newest 4 ft. white tree
with purple ornaments and white
lights. It is in one of the bedrooms.

This tree is 6 ft decorated in gold and
silver balls, white lights, and the garland
is a lacey silver. It is located in my
living room (most people call it my
victorian room.) My 6 ft. aluminum pom pom tree
with color wheel is decorated
with green balls. I found this tree
2 years ago at a yard sale. It is
set up in my computer room This is the tree that takes me
all day to decorate. It is 9 ft.
I have to have a step ladder to
decorated it. It has ornaments
that my children and grand children
have given me plus others that
I have collected though the years.
It has colored lights and is in the
greatroom where we all gather at
Christmas.

GOODIES FOR THE FAMILIES

When each of the families got ready to leave on Thanksgiving
day they left with some of my homemade gingerbread cookies &
a small pumpkin bread. I will be baking more for Christmas.
I have been busy getting the house all decorated up for
Christmas and will be posting some pictures of all my Christmas
trees as soon as I am finished.
