VALENTINE'S DAY DECORATIONS

January is almost over and February is only a
day away. I put away all my snowmen and now
have my home decorated for Valentine's Day.
Here are just a few of my pictures of my
decorations. Hope you enjoy them. The picture
above has heart garland and a heart smiley face
over the opening between my kitchen and small
back room.

On the table in my back room I have a red
tablecloth with small white hearts scattered
about with a gold napkin holder and 2 of my
wood hearts.

On the ledge in the kitchen I have these crafts
items and candles. As you can see I still have
the poinsettia (in the background) my son gave
me before Christmas.

Here are the craft items I have on the ledge.
A close up view. The tablecloth is one I have
one my kitchen table.

This heart with roses wreath hangs on the
back door. It lights up.

Heart wreath that hangs on the front door.
The sweet little bee on the right is musical and
plays the tune of You Made Me Love You.

My coffee table has a lace white runner with
this valentine bunny my daughter, Deann, made
for me, two heart bowls and it is scattered with
small red hearts and lips.

Another picture of table in back room with
gold heart napkin holder and wood hearts.

Pictured here is my little valentine tree.

My tables at end of the couch have hearts,
small bear, and a valentine tin.

These tables as you can see are antique
they have red hearts, small bear, and a valentine tin.

MY HOME TOWN

I found this picture of the main street
of my home town, Nevada City, California
in the Nevada Union newspaper on line.
I am not sure what year this was taken but
it brought back many memories of my 18
years of living and growing up in a small
gold mining town. It was a safe and wonderful
place to live we were able to walk the streets
by ourselves and not be afraid of being harmed
like kids are today. The building at the top
right was the movie theater where I saw many
movie. The building down from the theater was
the Purity Grocery Store where my mother did
her shopping. I attended the elementary school
(which I read in the paper on line that they are
thinking of tearing down and building a new Court
House. I believe they should leave it alone many
people have wonderful memories of attending a
school with the same classmates for 8 years. Since
I married and moved away there have been many
changes but it is still a quaint small town many of
of the buildings are now artist stores and antique
stores. I remember going to the butcher shop for my
mother and the butcher would always give me a
hot dog to eat on the way home. I remember
attending mass and Father Gabriella would
stop by the house and have a glass of wine with
my father. I remember the 4Th of July parades
held every other year, the contest they had for
the kids and the year I won 5 silver dollars. I
miss my mother and the homemade raviolis
she use to make every Christmas and Easter.
I miss my dad (who worked in the gold mines)
and the stories he would tell of all the different
things he did in his life. I remember every
summer we would spend our days at the city
swimming pool. Winter would bring snow
and I remember sledding down our street and
the hill across the street from where we lived.
Growing up in this wonderful small town will
always hold a special place in my heart. Click

BLUE SKIES

It is a very pretty day here in central
Alabama. Here in Pinson the sky is
a beautiful blue, but it is cold. We still
have snow on the ground but it is going
to melt fast with this wonderful sunshine.
I took a few last pictures of snow.

Front yard still covered with snow.

More of the front yard and snow.

As you can see in this picture the icicles
are melting from the eaves of the house.
The snow was very pretty it was the ice
that covered the streets after that was
so bad but thank-goodness the streets
are clear now, and people can get out.
Hope where ever you are it is a pretty
nice day also.

SNOW AND ICE

We got more snow last night but we also
got freezing rain that has made the roads
to dangers to travel on. I for one am
staying in the next few days. Hopefully
the roads will be clear by Thursday so I
can go to my doctors appointment.

TOMORROW

Tomorrow

Tomorrow smile at someone that you've never seen before.
Take time to think of others that you feel compassion for.

Tomorrow tell somebody how they brighten your day.
Let random acts of kindness put your feelings on display.

Tomorrow hug your children somewhat tighter than before.
Be sure to think of all the things you can be thankful for.

Pat your dog a little longer.
Hug and kiss your husband/wife.
Thank your God for granting you another day of life.

SNOWMAN COLLECTION

After I put away all my Christmas decorations
I put out my snowmen collection for the month
of January. Some I bought myself and some the
children gave me. The one pictured above is one
of my favorites.

Tea pot, sugar bowl, creamer and 2 cups I
got at a yard sale a few years ago.

Not sure who gave me this one but he is so
cute.

This one my daughter, Deann, gave me for
Christmas one year and he is very special to me.

This one I bought, it say let it snow on his hat.

I love this statue the sign says Snowflakes are
Angel Kisses.

My daughter, Debra, gave me this one for
Christmas a few years ago. It lights up and
changes color.

Debra also gave me the one standing another
Christmas gift a couple of years ago. The snowman
bucket was given to me by my daughter-in-law,
Lisa. The snowmen in the bucket were bought
my me.

Another yard sale find.

A few more stuffed snowmen and one tin
birdhouse snowman.

More stuffed snowmen and another tin snowman.
These are just a few from my collection. Hope I
haven't bored you all with this post. I hope you
all had a safe and happy new year. May the Lord
bless you all in this New Year. Click on the

HAPPY NEW YEAR

"Little January tapped at my door today
and said, "put on your winter wraps,
and come outdoors to play."
Little January is always full of fun; until
the set of sun.
Little January will stay a month with me
and we will have such jolly times just come
along and see."
