WELCOME THE MONTH OF OCTOBER

There is no season when such pleasant and sunny spots may be lighted on, and produce so pleasant an effect on the feelings, as now in October."  ~Nathaniel Hawthorne~

"The sweet calm sunshine of October, now warms the low spot; upon its grassy mold the purOple oak-leaf falls; the birchen bough drops its bright spoil like arrow-heads of gold."
     ~William Cullen Bryant~

"October's the month when the smallest breeze gives us a shower of autumn leaves.   Bonfires and pumpkins, leaves rushing down - October is red and golden and brown."  ~Can teach songs~

"October gave a party; the leaves by hundreds came - the chestnuts, oaks, and  maples, and leaves of every name.   The sunshine spread a carpet, and everything was grand,  Miss Weather led the dancing, Professor Wind the band."     ~George Cooper~

Have a wonderful month of October.

Lovely photos, Madeline! The lake (?) view is so very beautiful and it's always interesting to visit your blog and to see what kind of header photo there is. Gorgeous!
Have a blessed October! Hugs!

Dearest Madeline,

Your header is gorgeous and I once had a black cat very similar to the one in your beautiful header! I have actually had three black cats in my life and they all brought me much joy. I am very happy with the cooler temperatures after a very hot and humid summer, and it is lovely and refreshing to see the beauty of the changing colours of the leaves. Happy Autumn to you, and happy October!

I enjoyed the picture of the black kitty with the pumpkins and mums, and the photo of the changing colors of the leaves on the trees along the water's edge. Perfectly October. I love sunny October days.
