TEA AND FRIENDSHIP TUESDAY'S

I am not a tea person. I
do not collect teapots or
cups and saucers like a lot
of people do. I do enjoy
the friendship of other bloggers
and enjoy seeing their collections.
Here is a poem all of you will
remember.

I'm a little teapot short and stout.
Here is my handle, and here is my spout.
When I spy a teacup, then I shout,
tip me over and pour me out.

There are many versions of this little
poem but this is the version I liked the
best.

SQUIRREL HAVING HIS LUNCH

This morning I filled all of my bird feeders for
the birds. As you can see the squirrel was not
to be left out of his share. He went from one
feeder to the next. I sure hope he got his fill,
and left some for the birds.

AZALEA BUSHES

These two white azalea bushes are over 30 years
old. The tallest one is over 8 feet tall. They
are the fist to bloom every year.

My husband stood his surveying rod next to the
tallest one and hopefully, if you click on the
picture to enlarge it, you can see the height
marked on the rod.

Same white azalea bushes just another view
with one of my pink azalea bushes.

VICTORIAN CHAIR

I have two Victorian chairs, another yard sale
find a few years ago. They did not look like
this when I purchased them they were in need
of a lot of work. My husband cleaned up the
wood part. I had an upholsterer recover them
in a mauve colored velvet. They look great
and he did a beautiful job. I will not let any
of my grandchildren even near them let alone
sit in them. The crochet piece on the back of
the chair was my grandmothers. The table
is also an old piece (another yard sale find).

EASTER DECORATIONS

I spent yesterday putting out my Easter
decorations inside and outside the house.
Pictured below are some of my decorations.
Click on pictures to make them larger.
Picket fence crafted by my husband and painted
and decorated by me.
More crafted decorations. These wood pieces
were cut by my husband and painted by me.

Just another piece my husband and I did.

This piece invites visitors to the court yard as
it does every year.

No explanation needed for this picture. Flag
with Easter bunny painting eggs.

My one and only Easter cookie jar.
Which I will fill with my homemade
peanut butter cookies.

Easter bunny tea set my daughter, Debbie,
gave me a couple of year ago.

One of two Easter trees I have
on display.

Entrance hall table always holds my tall bunnies,
bunny light, and glass egg that will hold jelly beans
when I buy some.

My bunny family proudly sits and watches
over my victorian room.

Cloth bunny on back door.

This paper mache bunny was a yard sale find
that was in poor condition, I had to repaint the
face.

This cloth angel bunny greets visitors when
they come to the front door.

ALMOST SPRING TIME

It is still a couple of days until spring officially
arrives. Here the red bud trees pictures above
are in full bloom. Azaleas are budding out as
are the dogwood trees. After the rain we had
everything just started to burst out. Every
season has it own beauty but springtime is
a new beginning, the flowers poking out of the
ground, birds building their nests I could go
and on but I'll stop and enjoy the day.

DESK

This is another yard sale find a few years
ago. This desk as you can see has four
drawers, the top opens up to store your
stationary. The back has a small shelf
that has a hole on the right side which I
believe is for an ink well and a place for holding
pens and pencils. I do not know the age of
the desk or the name. It reminds me of
a sea captains desk. What is your opinion?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KATIE AND ME

I want to wish my granddaughter,
Katie, and very happy 21st
birthday. She and I share
the same birthday and when
she was younger we used to
celebrate together. I am so glad
for those memories. I am 73 years
young. I have been blessed in so
many ways and I give God thanks
for everyone of them.
_________________________
Have you ever stopped to think that
the candles on a birthday cake can
represent accomplishments as well
as years? The little things we've done
to help others ---perhaps a thoughtful
prayer, an encouraging word or a
helping hand when it was needed.

Age should not be counted merely by
the number of years we live, but also
by the good we accomplish during
these years. Each candle on our birthday
cake, therefore, can be a symbol of what
we have done to enrich the lives of
others as well as our own.

MARTHA WASHINGTON SEWING CABINET

Another one of my finds at
at a yard sale. This is called
a Martha Washington sewing
cabinet.

I believe the wood is oak. It has three drawers
and on the sides two deep wells that are great
for holding books, patterns, knitting needles etc.

As you can see I use the drawers to hold my
embroidery floss. If I buy anymore I will have
to use the side wells.

UNUSUAL PIECE OF FURNITURE

This is a piece of furniture I purchased

at a yard sale a couple of years ago.

I have no idea what it was used for.

I just fell in love with its style. It measures

18 inches across and 13 inches in dept. Stands

19 inches tall to top 24 inches if you count the

little railings. It has one small drawer.

This is the side view. If

any one knows anything

about it please let me know.

I have tried finding it in

books and on the internet

with no luck. I wonder

if it could be homemade.

If so some one did a great

job of crafting it.

ST. PATRICK'S DAY DECORATIONS

I do not have many St. Patrick's Day
decorations. The few I do have
our scattered about the house.
I just love my leprechaun candy dish.
I found him at a yard sale a couple
of years ago.

My ty beanie babies were another find at
yard sales. They were a bargain at 25 cents
for the little ones and 50 cents for the
large one.

The bunny was one my daughter, Deann, made
for me and since she is dressed in green I use
her every St. Patrick's Day. The wooden shamrock
is one of my crafts made when my husband and
I were in the craft business.

SNOW

Well here is proof that it does snow here in Pinson, Alabama.
We woke up this morning to just a little snow. Our weatherman
was correct for once. As I type this it is still snowing. I will
admit it is very pretty and I am enjoying it while sitting in a warm
house and watching it fall. Below are just a few pictures I have
taken when I first got up this morning. I went out and measured
the depth only an inch but if it keeps snowing the kids will be able
to make snowmen. It is a sticking snow, the sides of tree trunks
are covered.

Not much on the ground in this picture taken
when I first got up.
My St. Patricks Day Flag is covered with a little
snow.

You can just make out my neighbors house that
is behind ours. Taken from my back door.

My bridge across our wet weather creek which
is located in our back yard.

You can see the snow sticking to the trunks of
the trees in this picture.

My forsythia and wild baby breath bushes (which
were in full bloom) now with snow covering them.

Side yard. Since this picture was taken a lot
more snow has fallen. I am listening to the weather
on T.V. and they say snow all morning. I will have
to probably post more pictures after the snow is
through falling.

THE MONTH OF MARCH

"The March winds roars like a lion
in the sky, and makes us shiver
as he passes by.

When winds are soft, and the days
are clear, just like a gentle lamb,
then spring is here."
