HAP[PY HALLOWEEN
Here's hoping all the little ghost, goblins, witches have a fun time out trick-or- treating tonight. Stay safe and have lots of fun and get lots of goodies. I have not had any trick-or-treaters in quite a few years not many houses to go to where I live. When my children were young they and yes even I looked forward to this holiday. But alas children grow up and marry have kids of their own and they grow up. I still enjoy decorating for Halloween and will continue to do as long as I can.

HOLIDAY BAKING STARTED.
It has been a rainy day here today, so I started my holiday baking. These pumpkin breads have been securely wrapped and put into the freezer until Christmas when they will be given as gifts.
I still have more to do but have plenty of time to get them done.

WELCOME THE MONTH OF OCTOBER
There is no season when such pleasant and sunny spots may be lighted on, and produce so pleasant an effect on the feelings, as now in October." ~Nathaniel Hawthorne~
"The sweet calm sunshine of October, now warms the low spot; upon its grassy mold the purOple oak-leaf falls; the birchen bough drops its bright spoil like arrow-heads of gold."
~William Cullen Bryant~
"October's the month when the smallest breeze gives us a shower of autumn leaves. Bonfires and pumpkins, leaves rushing down - October is red and golden and brown." ~Can teach songs~
"October gave a party; the leaves by hundreds came - the chestnuts, oaks, and maples, and leaves of every name. The sunshine spread a carpet, and everything was grand, Miss Weather led the dancing, Professor Wind the band." ~George Cooper~
Have a wonderful month of October.
