Merry Christmas
Christmas wishes tried and true I'm sending now, just for you...a little love, a little cheer, and wishes for a great New Year! Hope Santa brings you gifts galore with more surprises still in store. May all your Christmas dreams come true and may God's blessings be yours too. ~Author Unknown~
Christmas is a holiday for friends, however they may be, or not, related. Remember that the three wise kings were strangers in search of one remote, uncanny dream. So may we all be for more than we seem, together bound for dark and haunting changes, more lovely for the loves we have created along the lonely paths from means to end, stumbling towards the star of Bethlehem. ~Nicholas Gordon~
MERRY CHRISTMAS to you all.

FIRST DAY OF WINTER
"On the first day of winter, the earth awakens to the cold touch of itself. Snow knows no other recourse except this falling, this sudden letting go over the small gnomed bushes, all the emptying trees. Snow puts beauty back into the withered and malnourished, into the death wish of nature and the deliberate way winter insists on nothing less then deference. Waiting all its life, snow says, "Let me cover you." ~Laura Lush~

WELCOME THE MONTH OF DECEMBER
"December finds himself again a child even as he under goes his age. Cold and early darkness now descends, embracing sanctuaries of delights. More and more he stares into the night, becoming less and less concerned with ends, emblem of the innocent as sage restored to wonder by what he must yield. ~Nicholas Gordon~
Sweet December
Sweet December my light, my ember the end of September, October, November. ~Author Unknown~
"I heard a bird sing in the dark of December a magical thing and sweet to remember.
"We are nearer to spring than we were in September. I heard a bird sing in the dark of December.'
~Oliver Herford~
Have a wonderful month of December my friends. Madeline

WELCOME TO THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER
"November comes and November goes, with the last red berries and the first white snows. With night coming early and dawn coming late, and ice in the bucket and frost by the gate. The fires burn and the kettles sing, and earth sinks to rest until next spring." ~Elizabeth Coatsworth~

HAPPY HALOWEEN
Spooks
~Sandra Liatsos~
There's a goblin at my window, a monster
by my door. The pumpkin at my table
keeps smiling more and more. There's a
ghost who haunts my bedroom, a witch
whose face is green. They used to be my
family, till they dressed for Halloween.
Hope everyone has a safe and fun Halloween.

WELCOME THE MONTH OF OCTOBER
"There is no season when such pleasant and sunny spots may be lighted on, and produce so pleasant an effect on the feelings, as now in October." ~Nathaniel Hawthorne~
"October's the month when the smallest breeze gives us a shower of autumn leaves, bonfires and pumpkins, leaves sailing down - October is red and golden and brown."
~Author Unknown~
"October gave a party; the leaves by hundreds came. The chestnuts, oaks, and maples, and leaves of every name. The sunshine spread a carpet, and everything was grand, Miss Weather led the dancing, Professor Wind the band." ~George Cooper~

HAPPY FIRST DAY OF AUTUMN
It definitely feels like the first day of fall. The thermometer on my front porch reads 56 degrees this morning. I already have some leaves falling and lots of acorns. Looking forward to seeing the leaves turn their bright and beautiful colors. When the leaves start to fall in earnest I am even looking forward to the raking and burning that my daughter and I will be doing. I do not need the central air or heat on another thing I like about this time of year. Have a blessed and wonderful day.

CITIZENSHIP DAY
Today is citizenship day. All of us who are citizens of this wonderful country should be thankful for the freedoms we have and thankful for the men and women in the armed forces who put their lives on the line for us every day. I ask each and everyone of you to pray that this country stays strong like our founding fathers wanted. God Bless America.
This day also would have been my husbands birthday. He would be 80. It seems just like yesterday I had him with me. I have lots of good memories of our time together and I know I will see him again. I know he is now longer suffering and is in a better place.
I wish I could post pictures but I still have not found out why I have trouble posting pictures. I guess I will just have to post without pictures.

PATRIOT DAY
Let us not forget what happened 13 years ago. Planes flying into the twin towers in New York City, the Pentagon and the plane down in the field in Pennsylvania. I remember where I was when I heard the news. Do you? I pray every night for God to keep this country safe and strong. Remember those that were lost in the above mentioned tragedies. GOD BLESS AMERICA.

WELCOME THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER
"By all these lovely tokens September days are here, with summer's best of weather and autumn's best of cheer." ~Helen Hunt Jackson~
"Try to remember the kind of September when life was slow and oh so mellow. Try to remember the kind of September when grass was green and grain so yellow. Try to remember the kind of September when you were a young and a callow fellow. Try to remember and if you remember then follow ..follow, oh oh.
~Lyrics by Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt~
Today is the first day of September, Labor Day, wishing every one a safe and happy holiday.

WELCOME THE MONTH OF JULY
Shifting away from June's bud to leave dandelions scattered in the yard this dawn of July marks the end of a lie a lie from the past season for a strong reason. In July robin will make herself shy and cover her reddish breast with her celestial bird crest then flap her wings to fly close against the sky. I want to kiss July and make July lasting forever in beauty but not ephemeral. I will preserve July on my canvas and with magic brush so that she will be enthralled and blush. I will paint July with charming colour so that she will be captured in delight and her soul enraptured because my heart is in July.
~Niji Chrys~
"We go in withering July to ply the hard incessant hoe; panting beneath the brazen sky we sweat and grumble, but we go."

SPRING TIME IN ALABAMA
I just had to show off some of the lovely what we call red bud trees that are blooming in my back yard. I do not know why they call them red bud trees because the flower is more of a dark pink color. We also have our dogwood trees blooming and I have some azaleas starting to bloom and when they are in full bloom I will post some pictures of them. Also the wild iris are blooming.

WELCOME THE MONTH OF APRIL
Another Sure Sign
By Evaleen Stern
When pink-cheeked on every hand little girls are seen to stand turning skipping ropes, -
swish - swash! While their laughing playmates run jumping over, - oh, what fun! Swish -
swash! Swish - Swash! Two and two now, see them dash! one, two, one, two, round they
scamper, softly thought, swish - swash! Such merry skipping, one, two, some one is
slipping ! Oh, she's out now and must pay turning rope while others play! See the bobbing
golden curls, little skirts in rhythmic swirls rising, falling to the beat of the little skipping
feet! When these pretty sights appear, it is surely very clear April's here!
The first of April, some do say, is set apart for All Fool's Day. But why the people call it so,
nor I, nor they themselves do know. But on this day are people sent on purpose for sure
merriment." ~Poor Robins Almanac, 1790~

WELCOME THE FIRST DAY OF SPRING
It's Spring Again
Daffodils, tulips flower despite cold march rains.
Sun grows warm, Birds sing in the trees, as they
come to life again after winter's sleep. Now life
is all around you. Smell the sweetness of the flowers,
rain, and dance---it's spring again.

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY
"St. Patrick's Day is here, you see. We'll pick some shamrocks, one, two, three. We'll count the leaves and look them over, and maybe find a four-leafed clover. I'll sew green buttons on my vest, green for St. Patrick is the best. I'll wear a green hat, very high, and dance a jig--at least I'll try!" ~Author Unknown~
May the Irish hills caress you. May her lakes and rivers bless you. May the luck of the Irish enfold you. May the blessings of Saint Patrick behold you. ~Irish Blessing~
May your blessings outnumber the shamrocks that grow, and may trouble avoid you wherever you go. ~Irish Blessing~

ANOTHER BIRTHDAY FOR ME AND MY GRANDDAUGHTER KATIE
Well another year has gone by and I am celebrating my 78th birthday. I thank God he has given me this many years to enjoy life and I hope and pray he will give me more years to enjoy. I am lucky to share this day with my granddaughter, Katie. I have fond memories of when she was a little girl we would celebrate our birthdays together. She is now grown up and is a fine young lady. I love you Katie and I wish all your dreams come true.
