BIRTHDAY
Today I am celebrating my birthday. 80 years young. The above photos were posted by my daughter, Deann. Upper left was when I was very young , upper right is when I was in grade school, lower left is my graduation picture and lower right was taken last year. I am lucky to share this day with my granddaughter, Katie, who is also celebrating her birthday today. When she was a little girl we would celebrate together but now that she is a young lady and living in New York we just wish each other a happy birthday .

SPRING FLOWERS
It is a beautiful day here in Pinson, Alabama. To nice to stay indoors so I got out and got the
leaves out of my flower garden (that once was a swimming pool). Then I came in and got my camera and took the above pictures of some of the spring flowers and bushes that are in bloom. Daffodils, thrift, wild violets, and my azaleas and forsythia are starting to bloom. To enlarge photos click on picture.

ST. PATRICK'S DAY DECORATIONS
Got this little wood leprechaun last year at Michaels.
Not sure when or where I got this hanging banner and door bells.
I got this at the Dollar tree.
Little mugs and cookie cutter I got at a yard sale many years ago. The two wood shamrocks I had my husband cut for me and I painted them years ago.
This bunny all dressed in green was made and given to me from my daughter, Deann.
The shamrock and flowers were brought at the dollar tree. The leprechaun and bear were bought at a yard sale.
Another yard sale find.
More from the Dollar tree and the bear and green mug were yard sale finds.
Decorations on my coffee table in the great room.
More decorations on the two end tables I have in my great room.
I decorate for every holiday as you can see. I do not have a whole lot for St. Patrick's Day and I am not Irish but I have fun doing it.

WELCOME THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY
"Freezing cold winds, biting chills, and white snow fluffed hills. Valentines day, oh how gay! Presidents" day is coming our way. February, sweet and small, greatest month of all.
~Eric Lies~
"The February born will find sincerity and peace of mind; freedom from passion and care, if they the pearl (also green amethyst) will wear."
~Author Unknown~
"I'm a little groundhog, it's my day. Wake and stretch, go out and play. Down in my burrow, down so deep, time to wake, from my long winter's nap. Grumble, grumble, scratch, scratch, grunt, grunt, yawn. I'll eat my breakfast in your front lawn. I'm a little groundhog, it's my day. Wake up and stretch, go out and play."
~Author Unknown~
This year is leap year. Instead of 28 days we have 29. Hope you month of February is a blessed and wonderful one.

PILLOWCASES
These are the last pair of pillowcases I was given at Christmas. I learned to embroider at a very early age, my mother taught me. I have enjoyed doing this for many years . It gives me a lot of pleasure to give these to my relatives and friends.

PILLOWCASES
This is what I do in my spare time (and I have lots of spare time.) I received two pairs as Christmas presents. I finished these the other day. They have been washed and ironed and put away and will be given as a gift to someone. When I am not embroidering I am crocheting granny afghans that are also given as gifts. Right now I am working on the other pillowcases.

SNOWMEN COLLECTION
These are four of my new snowmen added to my collection this year thanks to my daughter, Deann who gave them to me.
This one sits in my living room next to my franklin stove.
This one I call the tin man if you touch him he jiggles.
This one is cute and a little on the heavy side.
This one is made of wood I have him hanging in the back room off my kitchen.
The following pictures are some of my older collection and are my favorites.
I have always liked this one.
This one hangs on the back door. I think I got it at a yard sale years ago.
This one I brought at K-Mart a couple of years ago.
This one is made of glass I got it at a yard sale.
Ceramic snowmen with a saying I have always liked (Snowflakes are angel kisses.)
Not sure where are when I got this one . He also sits on my franklin stove in the living room.
This snowman dressed in gold sits on the railing in my living room.
Another snowman also sitting on my railing in the living room.
I believe I got this little fellow at K-Mart.
This little fellow is holding a towel. Not sure where I got him.
Here are a few more of my collection.
These four snowmen are made of tin. The second from the left is a birdhouse.
Snowman tin, snowmen dishes, and a couple of snowmen I have on my coffee table in the great room.
More snowmen. I have sitting around.
This is the last snowman I have purchased a door hanger.
I hope you have enjoyed seeing my collection hope I have not bored you with this long post.
