BIRMINGHAM ZOO

Yesterday my daughter, Deann, and her son, Adam, my grandson, took me
to the Birmingham Zoo.  Adam did voluntary work at the zoo but now he has a
summer job there.  He was off yesterday so he was our guide.  We got there
around 9 o'clock in the morning.  We wanted to beat the heat. There were
lots of school children there but I will have to say they were pretty well behaved.
It was the first time I have been to the zoo in quite some time.  I enjoyed  the
day and seeing all the exhibits and animals.    Below are some of the animals
my daughter took pictures of.

This peacock was strutting his stuff and he stopped and posed for this picture.
We went into the reptiles building but no picture were taken,  also the bird
building and last but not least the butterfly garden.

I used to ole going to the zoo. Now the drive to Seattle is more chore than pleasure. I have not gone in probably about five years. The. Pictures are great, especially the butterfly.

Going to zoos is one of my very favorite things. when I was little and visited my daddy in the summer, he ALWAYS took my cousin and I to the Dallas zoo...it has always been a big part of my heart. :)

So glad you enjoyed your zoo time..:)

Great photos! I love them all but I love the gorilla best. Makes me want to sit down with him (or her) share a banana or two.
Glad you had a good time.
