CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS PUT AWAY

With the help of my husband we got all the
outside Christmas decorations put away for
another year. The inside ones are also put
up for another year. It does not take as
long to put them away as it does putting them
up.

MORE SNOW CHRISTMAS NIGHT

We got more snow Christmas night.
Total of 2 inches in all. Today is a
cold but beautiful day here blue
skies and still lots of snow on the
ground and cars. With the sun
shinning it will probably melt
fast. These are just some of the
pictures taken the day after
Christmas.

WHITE CHRISTMAS

I had a very nice Christmas and
I hope all of you did also. We had
a white Christmas. It was fun
watching the snowflakes falling while
we opened presents and enjoyed
each others company. Below are some
of the pictures I took of the little bit
of snow we got.

MERRY CHRISTMAS

"May you have the gladness of
Christmas which is hope;
The spirit of Christmas which
is peace;
The heart of Christmas which
is love."
~Ada V. Hendricks~

Merry Christmas to all and may
the new year bring you much
happiness. Sincerely Madeline

HAPPPY FIRST DAY OF WINTER

"On the first day of winter
the earth awakens to the cold touch of it self.
Snow knows no other recourse except
this falling, this sudden letting go
over the small gnomed bushes, all the
emptying trees, snow puts beauty back
into the withered and malnourished,
into the death-wish of nature and the
deliberate way winter insists on nothing
less than deference. Waiting all its life,
snow says, "Let me cover you."

POINSETTIA

My son, Kenneth, surprised me this
morning. He came over and brought
me this beautiful poinsettia plant. To
me this is what Christmas is all about
a surprise visit and a special sweet
token of a sons love. I am indeed
fortunate to have such loving children.

CHRISTMAS TREE

This photo does not do this
beautiful Christmas tree justice,
it has to be seen in person.
My sister-in-law, Gwen made
all the ornaments, white bells,
snowflakes, and angels. Instead
of garland she used regular
wrapping ribbon (white) and
curled it. The only thing she
did not make is the angel on
top. It has clear lights and is
really quite an unique tree.

BABY IT'S COLD OUTSIDE

It is cold here this morning
and we are having snow
flurries. I know it will not
come to what they are
having up north, but I know
the children wish for snow
and would be delighted for
just enough to make a snowman.
Some of us grown-ups in our
hearts wish the same thing. I
remember as a child we had
snow every year and what fun
we had, we would attach our
sleds together and come down
our street laughing and the last one
on the last sled would always get
thrown into the snow bank. No
one ever got hurt thank goodness
just kids having fun.

CHRISTMAS QUOTE

Somehow, not only for Christmas but all
the long year through, the joy that you
give to others is the joy that comes back
to you. And the more you spend in blessing
the poor and lonely and sad, the more of your
heart's possessing returns to you glad.
~John Greenleaf Whittier~

A CHRISTMAS THOUGHT

There's more, much more,to Christmas
Than candlelight and cheer;
It's the spirit of sweet friendship
That brightens all the year.
It's thoughtfulness and kindness,
It's hope reborn again, for peace
for understanding, and for goodwill
to men!

DECEMBER

I heard a Bird Sing

In the dark of December
a magical thing
And sweet to remember.
'We are nearer to spring
than we were in September,'
I heard a bird sing
In the dark of December.
