I have been watching this redheaded woodpecker
for a couple of days now. I wonder if it is the same
one that made a nest last year in this old limb on
an oak tree outside my bedroom window. I have
counted a least six holes in the limb. I am surprised
it hasn't fallen off by now. This is not the best picture
but I hope you can see my woodpecker in residence
in the middle of the picture. Click on the picture to

SLIM WHITMAN
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6LE-gNbgPxo&feature=related
I know a lot of you are not fans of country music,
and especially not of yodeling. Slim Whitman has
always amazed me with his style of yodeling and
the length of time he can hold a note. I hope for
those of you who do like this style of music enjoy
this video. Just click on the above site.

THANK YOU
I have to give a great big
thank you to my daughter, Deann,
and my grandson, Adam, for all
their patience teaching me how to
do things on my blog, like the falling
shamrocks, and putting items on
the side of my blog. I only hope
I remember how to do it. I may
be yelling for help from time to time.

A TOUCH OF SPRING
Daffodil blooming amongst the leaves.
Forsythia bush blooming.
Spring is still 5 weeks and 4 days away but here
in central Alabama it is starting to poke its head.
With weather in the 60's and 70's it does this every
year, and then we have a cold spell and a heavy
frost and poof gone are the blooming flowers. I
hope this year will be different.

PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES
Cookies before baking.
day here so I decided to bake some peanut butter
cookies. These are so easy and if you like
peanut butter cookies I am going to share
the recipe with you.
1 cup peanut butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg
Mix all ingredients together, drop by spoonful on
greased cookie sheet press with fork dipped in sugar
bake 8 to 10 minutes at 375 degrees. While still
warm they will tend to crumble but after they are
thoroughly cooled they will be firm.

SPELLING BEE
I have to do a little bragging about my
grandson, Adam, who for the second
year in a row has won the Jefferson
County spelling bee. He will now go on
to the state spelling bee next month.
Adam is 13 and in the 7th grade. I am
so proud of him and wish him good luck
in the state spelling bee.

VALENTINE DECORATIONS
I finally took down and put away my snowmen
and put up my valentine decorations. Pictured
above is a heart box that candy came in and
given to by husband by me some years ago and
two little bear statues holding hearts.
This little valentine bunny was made by my
daughter, Deann. She gave it to me a few years
ago.
These little valentine angles were crafted by me
a long time ago. All you need is a small flower
pot, wood ball for the head, ribbon for the wings
a halo made from a string of beads, and curly craft
hair. I enjoy decorating for every holiday that
comes along. These are only a few of the valentine
decorations I have out.
