ANGELS

We are, each of us, angels
with only one wing; and
we can only fly by embracing
one another.

POOL CLOSED

Water getting cooler and the grandchildren not able to
come over to swim because of school we decided to close
the pool. We had to hurriedly put the cover on because it
started to thunder. We will straighten it out later. It is,
for me, a sad time because I love to swim. The way time
flies it won't be long and we will be able to open it up again.

TO ALL GRANDPARENTS

Grandparents bestow upon their grandchildren
the strength and wisdom that time and experience
have given them.

Grandchildren bless their grandparents with a
youthful vitality and innocence that help them
stay young at heart forever.

Together they create a chain of love linking the
past with the future. The chain may lengthen,
but it will never part...

BIRDS AND BIRD FEED

I have 24 birdfeeders and we have many
many different kinds of birds. Pictured
above is one of the many doves that come
to feed. The squirrels and ground squirrels
also get their share. After recounting my
birdfeeders I have 31 of them.

I wonder how long this 40 pound
bag of bird feed is going to last?
Care to venture a guess.

POOL CARETAKER

I want to give a big thank you to my husband for taking
care of the pool this summer. He kept it crystal clear so
I, the grandchildren and our kids could enjoy it.
I, for one, really do appreciate the hard work you did to
keep it looking so good, and I am sure the others feel the same.

ANOTHER PAIR OF PILLOWCASES

My very thoughtful daughter, Deann, gave me another
pair of pillowcases to embroider. The picture does not
do them justice, they turned out, I think very pretty. Thank
you Deann.

STORM DAMAGE

We got a lot of rain and wind last night and as you can see
from the above pictures we had one big oak tree come down.
We are so grateful it missed the house and our vehicles parked
in the driveway. It did damage many of my bushes and the
swing (hopefully it can be repaired). My husband was out
early with his chainsaw and got some of it cut up before it
started raining again.

MORNING MOON

This morning when I went out to help my husband with
some swimming pool work, I noticed the moon still up in
morning sky, so I just had to try and get a picture of it. That
little white dot is it.

ANOTHER MYSTERY FLOWER

These flowers come up every year in the yard. They are
on a tall slim stalk with white flowers that are in a spiral
shape. An up date on the white flowering bush, it is clematis.

WHITE FLOWERING BUSH

I am not sure what this flowering bush is called, but it has
the most delicate white flowers on it. If anyone knows the
name of this flowering bush please leave a comment. It was
growing wild and I transplanted it to my court yard where
it has done well.

CHAIN SAW ART

Pictured above is a totem pole carved with a
chain saw by a man here in central Alabama
This one is in my side yard (which is known
as the court yard. If you look closely you will
see a lizard, turtle, and of course an Indian head.

This one done by the same man reminds me of
Neptune, God of the sea. I use it to hang a bird
feeder and bird house. It is in my back yard and
but does not get to much attention since it is
hidden behind a fence.

Indian bust also done by same man has a special
place in my now rock garden (used to be my fish
pond until some hungry owls ate all my goldfish.
