SUMMER FUN

With temperatures like this no wonder my daughter and her two boys come over to cool off in the pool. Adam getting some sun and a little nap just floating around. Joseph with his tube stopped long enough for me to take his picture. Daughter, Deann and the boys having fun and cooling off. After they left I got my swimming done and just enjoyed myself.

HAWK ON ROOF OF OUR BIRDHOUSE

I have been trying to get a picture of our hawk that I believe has a nest somewhere in the trees in our back yard. I got this picture when he/she was perched on the roof of one of our birdhouses. I hope you can see him/her. You can enlarge the picture to get a better view.

TRADITIONAL MEMORIAL DAY MAY 30, 2012

As a child growing up on May 30Th every year Memorial day or has it was known before that (Decoration Day). I can remember my mother gathering flowers from our yard roses and snowballs and we would walk to the cemetery to put them on my grandparents grave and also my aunt and a cousins grave. I know now that times have changed but I still would keep the tradition alive if I was still living in my hometown in California.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY

Only One Mother... Hundreds of stars in the pretty sky, Hundreds of shells on the shore together, Hundreds of birds that go singing by, Hundreds of lambs in the sunny weather, Hundreds of dewdrops to greet the drawn, Hundreds of bees in the purple clover, Hundreds of butterflies on the lawn, But only one mother the world wide over.

Mother... A woman who strengthens you with her prayers, Blesses you with her love, and encourages you with her hope.

CACTUS, HYDRANGEAS, DAY LILIES

The cactus plant I planted many years ago is in bloom.

The wild oak hydrangea bushes that are in the back of the house are in full bloom.

My day lilies are also in bloom. They grow wild here in Alabama.

I love my flowers and working out in the yard. It looks like it is going to be a nice day so I'll be able to get out and enjoy the yard and do a little bit of yard work.

RED, WHITE AND BLUE DECORATIONS

With Armed Forces Day, Memorial Day this month; Flag Day in June and of course in July Independence Day I have my house decorated inside and outside with flags, windsocks, Uncle Sams, eagles and lots more. I am not crazy just love to decorate for every holiday that comes along. I am not the best picture taker but I hope you enjoy the ones I have posted.
