FLOODING MAY 27

Yesterday May 27 we got over 3 inches of rain. The day
before we got 1 1/2 inch of rain so the ground was already
saturated and as you can see from these pictures we had
a mess on our property in the back of our house. I blame
the construction company for not maintaining the pond
they built to hold back the water flow from their hillside
run off. I held my breath afraid that the 2 bridges my
husband built would be washed away. They survived but
I am afraid if something is not done about the runoff from
the construction site they still might get washed away.

FLOWERS ... FLOWERS

The last two azalea bushes that bloomed after all the other
bushes had bloomed.
I believe this is a sweet shrub bush. I obtained it at a
yard sale years ago.

Just a small portion of the pink thrift I have growing along my
walk way in front of the house.

A small garden of daisies which I keep adding to when they
come to seed.

My peony bush had the most blooms it has ever had. I
really was surprised.

Another picture of the peony bush. I just wish the blooms
lasted longer then they do.

I started this catus bush from one little sprig. It has gotten
quite big and has lots of blooms.

Another picture of the catus bush. It is an eye catcher at
the end of our property and many people have commented
on how pretty it is.

Just one of many oak leaf hydrangea bushes we have on
the the property.
It seems like this year all the flowers and flowering bushes
were the prettiest I have seen, maybe it because the older
one gets we appreciate God's beautiful creations.

FURRY FRIENDS

My husband, Karl, was out on the back deck, grilling some
hamburgers, he looked up in tree and lo and behold there
at the very top was a raccoon. He stayed in the tree all day
when night came and it got dark I watched as he climbed
down the tree and scurried away.

I have many bird feeders around the yard and keep them
full for the birds. As you can see the squirrels enjoy the
them as well. My husband says we have the fattest birds,
squirrels and ground squirrels in the neighborhood.

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY

God took the fragrance of a flower...
The majesty of a tree...
The gentleness of morning dew...
The calm of a quiet sea...
The beauty of the twilight hour..
The soul of a starry night...
The laughter of a rippling brook...
The grace of a bird in flight...
Then God fashioned from these things
A creation like no other,
And when his masterpiece was through
He called it simply - Mother

PILLOWCASES

Here are three more pairs of pillowcases I have embroidered.
Now that the weather has turned warm and we have opened
our swimming pool I will be putting away my needle and
embroidering thread to spend my days out in my yard and
in the pool.
