WELCOME OCTOBER
"October's the month when the smallest breeze gives us a shower of autumn leaves, bonfires and pumpkins, leaves sailing down. October is red and golden and brown." ~Author unknown~

WELCOME THE FIRST DAY OF FALL
The leaves have not started to turn here, but this morning is crisp and cool and it really feels like fall on this first day of fall.
An Autumn Day
Pumpkins in the cornfields, gold among the brown, leaves of rust and scarlet trembling slowly down; birds that travel southward, lovely time to play; nothing is as pleasant as an autumn day!

PATRIOT DAY NEVER FORGET
My husband and I were in Washington State getting ready to go to Oregon to visit our daughter, Kara, and her family. We were still at the motel we stayed in the night before. We turned on the T.V. and saw the plane hit. At first I thought it was a hoax but after a while it became very clear it was not. We made it down to our daughters. We did have a good visit. Coming back to Alabama
I will never forget the flags posted over the overpasses and all the flags flying in the yards. When it came time to cross the Hoover dam (we were in our van) we were afraid they would not let us get across but thank heavens they did and we made it home ok.
I will always remember these terrible tragedies and will continue to pray for this country and the people who lost loved ones. GOD BLESS AMERICA.

GRANDDAUGHTER'S, JULIE, BABY SHOWER
Julie and her husband Bill. My daughter-in-law, Lisa did a beautiful job of decorating for the shower.
All the people who were in attendance. It was a family affair. Julies side of the family and Bills side of his family.
She got lots of nice things for the baby to be.
This is a drawing my son did for the baby.
This is a picture of three generations and the fourth on the way. My daughter, Debra, Julie's mother that is me in the middle and Julie the mother to be. We had a great time and now all we have to do is wait on the little ones arrival in October.

WELCOME TO THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER
"By all these lovely tokens September days are here with summer's best of weather and autumn's best of cheer." ~Author Unknown~
"Try to remember the kind of September where life was slow and oh so mellow. Try to remember the kind of September when grass was green and grain so yellow. Try to remember the kind of September when you were a young and a callow fellow. Try to remember and if you remember then follow .. follow." ~lyrics by Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt.
Here's hoping everyone has a blessed and wonderful September.

MORE PILLOWCASES
Another pair of pillowcases done. When you are retired and live by yourself you have lots of time on your hands. When I am not working in the yard and have all my housework done I either crochet or embroider. I am now working on some dresser scarfs which when finished I will post the pictures.

ENCORE AZALEAS
These are three of my encore azaleas that I have in front of my house. The middle one is
pink and the other two are red. I enjoy watching the butterflies and yes hummingbirds that
come to get the nectar from the flowers. I have tried getting pictures of the hummingbirds
that comes around but have not been able to get my camera in time before he or she leaves.
The butterflies do not stay long enough to get a good picture. Click on picture to enlarge.
