HAPPY FIRST DAY OF WINTER

                                  Winter Time

Icy fingers and icy toes, bright red cheeks and

A VISIT TO SEE ZOOLIGHT SAFARI AT THE BIRMINGHAM ZOO

Last night my daughter, Deann, and her family took me to see the lights and
decorations at the Birmingham Zoo.  Above are some of the pictures that I
took they do not do it justice.  You have to see them in person they were just
beautiful.  They even had fake snow falling in places.  We walked around
looking at all the lights then we took the train ride to see more lights and even
Santa by the tracks.  It was a very enjoyable evening.  Thanks Deann, Brian,
Adam and Joseph for asking me to go with you.

REMEMBER PEARL HARBOR

I was only five years old when this terrible thing happened.  I honor
all you have given their lives for our country. God bless and keep
all our service men and women. 

CHRISTMAS ORANAMENT IN MEMORY OF MY HUSBAND KARL

Last night an angel from the Hospice Services
of Alabama delivered this beautiful ornament
in memory of my husband Karl. It will have a
special place on my tree. I am very grateful for
all they did when he was sick and for this very
generous gift. I will treasure it always.

Wishing my youngest daughter, Kara, a
very happy birthday.  She is a wife, the mother
 of four children and she also holds down
a full time job, I don't see how she does it.

CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS.

                                       
                                       You who follow my blog know I love to decorate for
                                        the holidays.  Above are some of my inside decorations.
                                        The first seven are of my great room, kitchen and small
                                        room off the kitchen.  Done in the colors of red, green and
                                        white.  The next three are of my living room , which I call
                                        my Victorian room.  Done in the colors of gold and pink.
                                        The last is my Christmas tree in my computer room.  I did
                                         not take a picture of the little trees I have in the bedrooms
                                         and bathroom.

HOLIDAY BAKING

Woke up to rain and thunder this morning.
A good day to start my holiday baking.  I
made these 3 pumpkin breads which I will
freeze for part of the family.  I still have 3
more to do for the rest of the family.  I also
got a batch of gingerbread cookie dough
made and will bake them tomorrow.   I
enjoy baking for my family and friends
when the holidays are here.

This is my latest crocheted afghan.  I did it for my guest room.  When I am
not raking and burning leaves and finished with my household duties I  have
to keep myself busy.  This is the fourth one I have done in the last couple of
months and it will be the last for a while. 

HAPPY VETERANS DAY

Many in my family have served this country . My Dad (WW1), my uncle
(WW2)  my husband (Korean War), my brother (Navy) and many cousins.
I am proud of them all and for those still here with us I say thank you and
for those you have gone on to a better place I hope they knew how much I
loved them and appreciated their service. 

SWEET GIFT FROM A SPECIAL BLOGGING FRIEND

Received this cute hanger and diabetic brown sugar from one of
my blogging friends BJ.  She has a wonderful blog which I enjoy
very much.  I sent her a recipe last year for gingerbread cookies
and she said when she saw this hanger she thought of me.  Thank
you BJ for your thoughtful gift.  I will find a special place for the
hanger, and I will definitely  try the brown sugar when I start my
Christmas baking.  I know we have not met in person but I can
say you are a true friend as are my other blogging friends.  If you

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOGAN

My grandson, Logan is celebrating his birthday today.  Twelve
years old.  He is growing into a fine young man.  Watches after
his young brothers and sister.  Have a wonderful day Logan,
mamaw loves you.

Congratulations to Tabernacle Torches for the win last night. The picture above is of the Junior class varsity players and cheerleaders. My grandson, Adam, is on the right. Handsome fellow, but then I am a little bit prejudiced.

NOVEMBER

It seems the older I get the faster time flies. I will take down and put away my Halloween decorations and put out my Thanksgiving decorations today. Wishing all a very nice and blessed November.
