It is so hard to believe this year is almost over.
It seems the older I get the faster the months
fly by. I hope all of you had a great Thanksgiving,
and that you will have a blessed Christmas with
your family and friends. I have been reflecting
about the past months when I was hospitalized and
have given thanks many times over for the good
Lord allowing me to have a very nice Thanksgiving
with my family and another Christmas to enjoy. I
have had the love of my friends and family during
my ordeal and want them to know how much it has
meant to me for them to be with me, all their prayers
and help showed me how much they cared. I am
looking forward to a wonderful Christmas and I hope
many more to come.

The year has turned its circle,
The seasons come and go.
The harvest all is gathered in
And chilly north winds blow.
Orchards have shared their treasures,
The fields, their yellow gain,
So open wide the doorway
Thanksgiving comes again.

Pictured above is my latest find

chair. It is in perfect condition. I am
not crazy about the color but it will have
to do for now.

The Best of Friends

The best of friends,
can change a frown,
into a smile,
when you feel down.

The best of friends,
will understand,
your little trials,
and lend a hand.

The best of friends,
will always share,
your secret dreams,
because they care.

The best of friends,
worth more than gold,
give all the love,
a heart can hold.

Drinking From My Saucer
I've never made a fortune
And it's probably to late now.
But I don't worry about that much,
I'm happy anyhow.
And as I go along life's way,
I'm reaping better than I sowed.
I'm drinking form my saucer,
'Cause my cup has overflowed.
I don't have a lot of riches,
And sometimes the going's tough.
But I've got loved ones around me,
And that makes me rich enough.
I thank God for his blessings,
And the mercies he's bestowed.
I'm drinking from my saucer,
'Cause my cup has overflowed.
I remember times when things went wrong,
My faith wore somewhat thin.
But all at once the dark clouds broke,
And the sun peeped through again.
So God, help me not to gripe
About the tough rows that I've hoed.
I'm drinking from my saucer,
'Cause my cup has overflowed.
If God gives me strength and courage
When the way grows steep and rough,
I'll not ask for other blessings,
I'm already blessed enough.
And may I never be too busy
To help others bear their loads.
Then I'll keep drinking from my saucer,
'Cause my cup has overflowed.

A Perfect Day
When you come to the end of a perfect day,
And you sit alone with your thought,
While the chimes ring out with a carol gay,
For the joy that the day has brought,
Do you think what the end of a perfect day
Can mean to a tired heart,
When the sun goes down with a flaming ray
and the dear friends have to part?
Well, this is the end of a perfect day,
Near the end of a journey, too,
But it leaves a thought that is big and strong,
with a wish that is kind and true.
For mem'ry has painted this perfect day
With colors that never fade,
And we find at the end of a perfect day,
The soul of a friend we've made.

"November comes and November goes,
with the last red berries and the first
white snows.
With night coming early, and dawn coming
late, and ice in the bucket and frost on
my gate.
The fires burn and the kettles sing, and
earth sinks to rest until next spring."
