HAPPY HALLOWEEN

Jack-o-lantern smiling bright
Witches flying in the night
Ghost and goblins, cats and bats
Witches with their funny hats
A full moon can't be beat
As we go out to trick or treat.

Wishing everyone a happy and
safe Halloween.

FORGIVE ME WHEN I WHINE

Forgive Me When I Whine

Today upon a bus , I saw
A lovely maid with golden hair;
I envied her --she seemed so gay --
And oh, I wished I were so fair.
And suddenly she rose to leave,
I saw her hobble down the aisle;
She had one foot and wore a crutch,
But as she passed, a smile.
Oh God, forgive me when I whine;
I have two feet--the world is mine.

And when I stopped to buy some sweets,
The lad who served me had such charm.
He seemed to radiate good cheer,
His manner was so kind and warm.
I said,"It's nice to deal with you,
Such courtesy I seldom find."
He turned and said, "Oh thank you, sir!"
And then I saw that he was blind.
Oh God, forgive me when I whine,
I have two eyes---the world is mine.

Then when walking down the street,
I saw a child with eyes of blue.
He stood and watched the others play;
It seemed he knew not what to do.
I stopped a moment, then I said;
"Why don't you join the others, dear?"
He looked ahead without a word,
And then I knew, he could not hear.
Oh, God, forgive me when I whine;
I have to ears--the world is mine.

With feet to take me where I'd go,
With eyes to see the sunset's glow,
With ears to hear what I would know;
I'm blessed indeed, the world is mine.
Oh, God, forgive me when I whine.

KINDNESS

'
"Scatter seeds of kindness everywhere you
go; scatter bits of courtesy watch them grow
and grow. Gather buds of friendship; keep
them till full-blown; you will find more happiness
than you have ever known."

TRIP TO SELMA, ALABAMA

Today was another beautiful day here in Alabama.
My husband and I decided to take a drive down
south to Selma, Alabama. The drive was very
enjoyable the trees are starting to turn their
beautiful colors. Pictured below are some of the
sights we took in while in the old part of the town
of Selma.

An old Victorian house

Another Victorian house. I just love the gingerbread
trim on these houses.

This old Victorian house was one of the prettiest
we saw.

Spanish moss was hanging from a lot of the trees.

This hotel is located near the Alabama river. The
iron work as you can see is very pretty.

This is a fountain that is in front of the St. James
Hotel.

Sign describing the area around the river.

Original house where the bridge-tenders stayed.
Sign for the Bridge Tender's house.

Alabama river.

Sign telling about the first bridge built across
the Alabama river.
Famous bridge where events took place during
the civil rights era.

KINDLY DEEDS

It's the little things we do and say
that mean so much as we go our way.
A kindly deed can lift a load from
weary shoulders on the road.

GIFT OF A LOVING THOUGHT

If instead of a gem, or even a flower,
we should cast the gift of a loving
thought into the heart of a friend, that
would be giving as the angels give.

HALLOWEEN DECORATIONS

Here are just a few of my Halloween decorations.
The pumpkins on the left light up as does the
scarecrow on the right.

The big hairy spider is the center of this decoration.

My Halloween tree.

Archway decorations .

This pumpkin lights up and changes colors .

Sign on my front porch .

Pumpkin lights, pumpkin and black cat all light
up.

My storage house is always decorated every
holiday.

The spider and pumpkin light up.

Some of my decorations out in the court yard.
My garden tool shed is decorated
every holiday also.

This little picket fence and the decorations
are getting quite old. My husband
and I did them when we were in the
craft business.

These stake outs were some
we did also when we were in
the craft business.
I did not post all the pictures I
took of my decorations inside
and outside the house to many to
post.

WELCOME OCTOBER

"October is the month when the smallest breeze
gives us showers of autumn leaves. Bonfires and
pumpkins, leaves sailing down--October is red
and gold and brown."
~Can teach songs~

To me October is a month with crisp mornings,
leaves of red and gold, pumpkins of bright orange
made into jack-o-lanterns. Halloween with little
ghosts and goblins trick or treating from house to
house. A beautiful month to be hold.
