SANTA CLAUS MELON

I had not heard of a santa claus melon until my friend Laura
told me about how good they were. So I just had to try one.
It is a sweet and juicy melon and the taste is scrumptious. I
compared it to a honeydew melon and the santa claus melon
won hands down. Believe me if you have not tried one you
are in for quite a treat. It is also known as a Christmas melon.

PILLOWCASES

I know I said in a previous post I was putting away my
needle and thread, but when my daughter, Deann gave
me this set of pillowcases, a surprise gift for no special
reason just a very thoughtful gesture on her part, I just
had to start on them immediately. I wonder who will
get these as a gift, since I usually give them away.

A LOVELY THANK YOU

This lovely bouquet of flowers was a thank from our
daughter, Debra, for things her dad and I did for
her and her family. It's time like this that having
children and grandchildren makes life worth while.

MORNING GLORIES AND DAISIES

Morning glories climbing up a swing in the back
yard.
More morning glories growing in a ditch in the side yard
next to the street.

Daisies that have come up in the back yard near our wet
weather creek. They survived the run off from the rain
we had that flooded the area where they just popped up.

Same daisies as above. You can see they are bent from all
the rain run off, but they are a hardy bunch and are now
looking good again.

THISTLE PLANT AND VISITORS

This thistle plant magically appeared, with gods help, next
to my totem pole (which I use to hold one of my birdfeeders.)
I learned that the thistle plant is the national flower of
Scotland. Below are pictures of the vistors a bumble bee
and a small butterfly. It seems that wild plants do better
for me than plants I buy at nurseries.

LOOK FOR THE SILVER LINING

Whene'er a clould appears in the blue. Remember somewhere
the sun is shining and so the right thing to do is make it shine
for you. A heart full of joy and gladness will always banish
sadness and strife. So, always look for the silver lining and try
to find the sunny side of life.

INDOOR 4TH OF JULY DECORATIONS

One of many indoor 4th of July decorations.

Liberty Bears in patriot rocking chair with a patriot
umbrella holder.
I have many of these flag arrangements along with more
stuffed animals (eagles, seals bears and dogs) all dressed in
red, white and blue, in different rooms of my home.
